Come and See

John 4:28-42

””Come and see a man who told me everything I ever did! Could he possibly be the Messiah?”“

John‬ ‭4‬:‭29‬ ‭NLT‬‬

Usually when any of my colleagues or I see what we consider an interesting patient case, we cannot wait to share this rare case. We cannot wait to tell others of this unusual or fascinating occurrence. I am sure in your day to day life, you are always eager to share those things that happen to you that you find amazing or fascinating - that child that took her first step, a day that went in a way we did not anticipate.

In our lives as Christians however, the most fascinating thing that ever happened to us is that the God of the universe sent His only son to die on the cross for us. He died to save us from our sins and reconcile us with God. He translated us from the kingdom of darkness into the kingdom of His marvelous light. The Samaritan woman met Jesus and ran into her village and told them to “Come and see”…the man. How many people have you told to “come and see” your Savior? The one that set you free, the one that healed you, the one that saw everything you had ever done yet did not reject you. Can I challenge you today to invite your colleagues and friends to come and see the Messiah? He is waiting for you to tell the world about Him.

Practice points for this week

  1. Tell at least one person about the goodness of God

  2. Ask God to reveal to you people He has created a hunger for Him in their hearts

  3. Pray that God will open your eyes to the hurting souls around you - in your workplace, communities.

Father, thank you that you sent your son to die for me. You saw everything I have ever done and you love me regardless of them. Thank you for your love. Use me to reveal this love to others and win more souls to your kingdom.
