Tell Your Story

Mark 5 :14-20

”Jesus did not let him [come], but [instead] He said to him, “Go home to your family and tell them all the great things that the Lord has done for you, and how He has had mercy on you.”“

‭‭Mark‬ ‭5‬:‭19‬ ‭AMP‬‬

If you are a believer like me, I am sure you can recall some of the habits or issues that no longer control you because Jesus delivered you from them. The amazing thing about this scripture is that this man who had been confined to an area, who could not have a decent conversation with anyone was now the one sitting down, clothed and in his right mind. The saving power of God is something to be shared with great joy! From this scripture, we can see that though he wanted to follow Jesus. Jesus commanded him to go tell people about the great things He has done for him. Evangelism is one of God’s purposes for man. God didn’t save you to just follow Him and stay on the sidelines. He saved you so you can tell your story unashamedly. We all have a story to tell.  You may ask yourself, “how do I go about telling people about these great things that I have experienced?” It is simple. It is just a conversation. Everyone loves to hear a good story.

Try these three steps:

1. Ask the Holy Spirit  to position your heart for evangelism because it is God’s purpose for man.

2. Ask Him to guide your steps on a daily basis to meet someone  who needs to hear your story.

3. Be authentic. Be you. There is no formula or template to this. The light of God flows through you. All you have to do is start to tell the story of what Jesus did for you.

Prayer Point

Father, thank you for your saving power.  Remind me of your goodness that I may be an announcer for you on earth in Jesus Name.
